Sabbatical Grants
Sabbath rest is essential to the work of ministry. CBF Texas urges congregations and partner organizations to create sabbatical leave policies, so that their staff can take significant time away from the demands of their work in order to be restored and renewed. Such rest has a significant impact on ministers, their families, and the congregations and organizations that they serve.
To encourage this practice, staff of CBF Texas congregations and partner organizations are invited to apply for a grant of $1000 to fund sabbatical activities.
Eligibility
Eligible applicants should be anticipating a sabbatical of at least four consecutive weeks in 2026. Suggested activities to be considered for funding are pastoral care or counseling, travel or accommodation, retreats, continuing education, study resources, and childcare.
