This workshop will preview a new resource from the Baugh Center for Baptist Leadership and the BJC (Baptist Joint Committee for Religious Liberty). This video curriculum, which features BJC Executive Director Amanda Tyler, gives an overview of the history of religious liberty in the Baptist tradition, a primer on the current political landscape, and tools for Baptist churches and individuals to discern their role in democracy.

In this workshop, we will look at the counties of persistent rural poverty in Texas and the larger region and identify the good work already happening there and determine how to build partnerships with them. We will also review the mission, priorities, and strategies of Together for Hope in tackling the worst poverty in the United States.
